The Road to Success is Always Under Construction
“The road to success is always under construction.”
— Arnold Palmer? or Lily Tomlin?
If you think of the road to success as going toward goals, some successes will be easy to reach and some will be very far away, or in different directions. There will be detours, accidents, disasters, and various failures along the way. You might successfully reach some goals and realize that they aren’t what you expected. There’s almost always another way. As long as you’re alive, you can keep moving.
Life is always changing. It’s a journey, not a destination.
I believe that’s true of success also. How people define success varies, and one person’s definition may change too. Success comes from continual effort, but it’s not just an ultimate defining achievement.
Really, all people have successes and failures throughout their lives. Some more than others, of course, and there’s a lot of chance involved, but a perserverant and adaptive person can overcome many failures. It is worthwhile to plan and use a roadmap, then push on toward your goals, but also adapt to changes.
When you realize that the road to success is always under construction, you can get the most out of your life.
